RIA UI - 2003
Presentation: Shopping Section
While working at IconMedialab, I was involved in an internal marketing effort aimed at educating prospective clients in the e-tailing sector about the benefits of Rich Internet Applications (RIAs). This effort took form as a presentation authored in Flash and divided into three sections (Shopping, Buying and Technology) that squarely assert the benefits of RIA implementations in each context.
In order to communicate the vision for what an ecommerce-centric Rich Internet Application could be, a fictitious e-tailer had to be created. A nameless online tire vendor was chosen, and UI elements to aid the presentation had to be conceptualized, designed and animated.
Always aware of the limited attention-span of those who would be directed to the presentation, the concepts and messages (visual and narrative) had to be easy to follow without dumbing down the more complex ideas introduced.
